“A Different Type of Church" is Ryan Cardoso’s first feature documentary. The film is a visual mixtape exploring style and dance as a religious practice and documenting how spirituality has evolved in the 21st century. For this project, Ryan and I collaborated to build the graphic style of the film. "A Different Type of Church" is comprised of six story chapters, and I designed and produced intertitle graphic cards that emphasized the influence of technology on black religion.

I used Blender to develop several graphics, including re-imagined television logos, digital model figures, object replicas, and typography. My work was an integral part of the story, making the film feel seamless. Below, you will see the individual assets created for the film.
